What is the admission process like?
Personal Care Admission
We strive to make every new resident feel comfortable and cared for from the very beginning. The process starts with submitting an application to The Heritage or The Ridgewood. Once approved by our Admissions Committee, your name is placed on the waiting list. When an apartment becomes available, you can reserve it with a deposit, complete the required medical evaluation, and meet with the Administrator to finalize paperwork and schedule your move-in. Throughout each step, we personalize the experience to ensure a smooth, supportive transition into your new home.

Care and Services
What's the difference between independent living, personal care and skilled nursing?
Independent living is ideal for older adults who are active and need no daily assistance. Residents enjoy the freedom of a private residence with added conveniences such as social activities, and maintenance-free living.
Assisted living (often called personal care in Pennsylvania) is designed for individuals who want to maintain independence but may need help with daily tasks like bathing, dressing, or managing medications. Supportive services are available around the clock, along with meals, activities, and a strong sense of community.
Skilled nursing provides the highest level of care outside of a hospital. It is for those who need 24-hour nursing supervision, ongoing medical attention, or rehabilitation services. Skilled nursing communities offer private or shared-private rooms, daily care, therapies, and specialized support to meet complex health needs.
Do you offer memory care or specialized care for dementia?
Yes. St. Paul’s offers specialized memory care designed for individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia. Our dedicated team provides personalized support in safe, comforting environments that promote dignity, security, and quality of life. Programs and activities are tailored to each person’s abilities and interests, helping residents stay engaged while giving families peace of mind.
Our memory care neighborhood, Jones Serenity Circle and Lane is located in The Heritage.
How do you assess a resident's care needs?
At St. Paul’s, we carefully assess resident needs to ensure they receive the right level of support and services. Our process is personalized and ongoing, involving both the resident and their family.
Assisted Living/Personal Care:
Our team assesses daily living needs, including help with bathing, dressing, medication management, and mobility. This ensures each resident receives the appropriate support while promoting independence.
Skilled Nursing & Short-Term Rehab:
A comprehensive evaluation is completed by physicians, nurses, and therapists to determine medical, therapy, and nursing needs. Plans of care are individualized and adjusted regularly to support recovery, health, and safety.
Memory Care:
Residents with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia are carefully assessed for cognitive function, behavior, and daily living needs. This ensures a safe, supportive environment with tailored activities and specialized care.
Independent Living:
At the Independent Living level, residents enjoy a maintenance-free lifestyle with no care services included. If a resident’s needs change, we take a personalized approach—discussing options such as our home-based services or, when appropriate, considering a move to a higher level of care.
What types of rehabilitation services are available?
At St. Paul’s, we provide a full range of short-term rehabilitation services to support recovery after illness, injury, or surgery. Our therapy team offers physical, occupational, speech, and respiratory therapies, along with skilled nursing care such as wound management and IV therapy. With therapy available seven days a week, our goal is to help each individual regain strength, independence, and confidence to return home safely.
