St. Paul's Senior Living Community is again participating in PA OH Gives - Giving Week during the week of June 17-23 to raise funds for benevolent care.

Last year this virtual giving event through the Community Foundation of Western PA and Eastern OH raised a total of $1.1 million for a total of 66 non-profits in the region.

Donations for St. Paul's during PA OH Gives will benefit the Good Samaritan Fund. This fund provides support for residents who exhaust their financial resources and can't afford to pay for the full cost of their care. 59% of the residents at St. Paul’s in skilled nursing care and 10% of those living in personal care depend on benevolent care.

"A core part of our charitable mission at St. Paul's is to be able to care for residents in need, regardless of their financial resources," said Dawn Hartman, Director of Strategic Giving. "In 2022, St. Paul's provided the equivalent of $5.2 million in benevolent and unfunded care for residents in need. That wouldn't be possible without donors supporting our Good Samaritan Fund."

Any donations made during PA OH Gives for St. Paul's will be matched by the Community Foundation, increasing the impact. The match amount will be prorated based on the total dollars raised by all organizations participating. Each charity will receive the same match amount per dollar raised.

"PA OH Gives has been a great way for our donors to time their giving to take advantage of the free matching funds. They get excited about it!" said Hartman.

The Community Foundation is not collecting any fees during PA OH Gives, which means 100% of the donations will pass directly to St. Paul's, in addition to the amount the foundation matches.
