Tips for Facebook Fundraising
Thank you so much for choosing to make a difference in the lives of the residents at St. Paul's by hosting a Facebook fundraiser for St. Paul's! Here are a few tips to help make your fundraiser a success:
Tell Your Personal Story
Let your Facebook friends and family know why St. Paul's is important to you. They may not know. Share if your mom lives at St. Paul's or your grandparents lived there. Personal stories are powerful. People are more likely to connect with a cause when they hear personal stories or how it's affected someone they know.
For example - "It's my Mom's 80th birthday this month. Will you help me celebrate by making a gift in her honor to St. Paul's, where she now lives? I know she's still with me today because of the excellent care they provide her. Happy Birthday, Mom, and thank you, St. Paul's!"
Make a Personal Gift
Get the ball rolling by making your own personal donation to the fundraiser. When your friends see that there are already some funds raised, it may encourage them to give also!
Invite Your Friends to Participate
Once you create your fundraiser, be sure to use the tools Facebook offers within the fundraiser to invite your friends to participate and share to your personal page.
Update on Your Progress
Your friends might have missed seeing your fundraiser when you created it. So share it a few times to your page with updates on your progress, such as "I'm halfway to my goal! Would you help me get the rest of the way?"
