St. Paul’s is again participating in PA OH Gives - Giving Week from June 21-27, 2025 to raise funds for benevolent care. The Good Samaritan Fund is facing a shortfall in 2025, which is why St. Paul's is hoping for strong support during PA OH Gives. Last year, a total of $40,600 was raised in this one week from 114 donors.
This virtual giving event is hosted by the Community Foundation of Western PA and Eastern OH to help local nonprofits like St. Paul’s. Since its inception in 2020, PA OH Gives has raised a total of $243,000 for St. Paul's Good Samaritan Fund for benevolent care.
You can increase the impact of your gift for benevolent care by making a personal donation during PA OH Gives. All donations will be matched by the Community Foundation on a prorated basis.

Why Can't I Donate Directly to St. Paul's?
In order to take advantage of the free matching funds, you must make your donation to the Community Foundation, designated for St. Paul’s. This makes your gift even greater at no additional cost to you!
Will My Entire Donation Benefit St. Paul's?
Yes! The Community Foundation doesn’t charge administrative fees. If you donate online, there’s a small credit card fee, but you can choose to cover it.
How Much is the Match?
We won't know until the event ends. The match is determined by dividing the total matching funds available by the total donations received. Every gift receives a fair share of the match. For example, if the match is 25 cents per dollar, your $100 gift becomes $125.
Is There a Limit on Matching?
Yes. A single donor can give up to $25,000 maximum to one organization and qualify for matching funds.
Will St. Paul's Know I Gave?
Yes, unless you give anonymously. St. Paul's will receive a donor report from the Community Foundation within a month after the event. You'll receive a tax receipt from the foundation, and a
thank you email or letter from St. Paul's.
What is the Good Samaritan Fund?
The Good Samaritan Fund supports benevolent care for St. Paul’s residents who exhaust their financial resources and cannot afford to pay for the cost of their care. 56% of the residents at St. Paul’s in skilled nursing care and 5% of those living in personal care depend on benevolent care. Because there is a Good Samaritan Fund, no resident is ever asked to leave St. Paul’s for financial reasons. Last year St. Paul's provided the equivalent of $4.5 million in benevolent and unfunded care to residents in need.
